We’ve been working hard on finalising all the details of the event and it’s about time we tell you everything we know about it so you know it too. Sharing is caring, yo! Grab a cuppa and read on…

Hopetoun Alpha is a beautiful venue. Located at 19 Beresford Square just off K-Road in Auckland, it is a converted church built in the 19th century. Classy!

We got heaps of seating and more importantly…

The venue’s car park is open to Reel Wild attendees all day so plenty of free parking. The car park is an open one right next to the venue so just drive in and pick a spot. Any spot! It’s your lucky day!

We’ll open the doors at 1pm and likely get the first movie up around 1:15pm. We’ll go on until around 8pm.

Watch the website and Facebook page for final information in the coming week as we get the movie timings finally locked down.

We will be joined by a number of people involved in the films we will be showing, including Aaron Smart, director of Just Keep Running, Paul Charteris, Shaun Collins and one of the competitors from the movie The Barkley Marathons. Be ready to mix and mingle. It’s going to be loads of fun!

If you haven’t had a pizza from Station Bar over the road, you pretty much haven’t lived. The good news is that you can fix that at Reel Wild. Station Bar is offering Reel Wild attendees a special deal of $15 for any of their pizzas. Either bring cash and order them with us at the event (and they’ll be delivered to you in the venue within minutes!) or pop over across the road and get your pizza from them – just make sure you show them your Reel Wild lanyard to get your discount! Did I mention they have dessert pizza?

Supporters and Partners

Epic – these awesome folks joined in to help us from the very beginning and are going to be at the event with a delicious range of their delicious brews at great prices.

In addition they’re bringing some pretty cool merch to tempt you. We’d suggest you arrange to get a lift or dial a driver home if you’re going to be tucking in as much as us!

Icebug – launching soon in Australia and NZ, the folks from Icebug will be joining us and will have a few nice giveaways too!

Buff – The good people from Buff will also be at Reel Wild selling their super cool headbands at special prices to event attendees. Additionally, if you want to have an awesome TUM 2015 Buff, bring $20 and a tin of food to donate to the Auckland City Mission. Or, if you’re feeling generous, you can just bring a tin of food anyway and Buff will make sure it goes straight to the hands of those in need.

Where do we even start? Wicked Total Sport race entries, brilliant Allan Ure Photo packages, Icebug giveaways… It’s all on!

We’ll do some random draws throughout the day so it pays to be there all day – and it’s not like we’re going to let you get bored anyway. I mean, have you checked out our films list?

If you’ve bought your ticket already, bring a print out with you to the event. We’ll also have your name down on the door so don’t fret if you’ve forgotten it.

We’ll be selling tickets on the day as well and they are $35 on the door. Cash only please! So bring a mate or ten!

Buying stuff

We wont have EFTPOS so please bring cash for purchases.

There are ATMs nearby but make sure you have plenty of cash so you don’t have to dash up the road during an awesome movie so you can buy a drink or a bite to eat.

Arataki Attack! – The Sunday Run with Jo Johansen

We’ll meet at the Arataki Visitor Centre Car Park on Sunday 19th at 8am to head out for a fun 19KM gnarly old run with Jo Johansen through some of the coolest trails in the Waitakeres.

You’ll need to register interest with us at the main entry desk on Saturday and get a number. Why? S o Allan Ure can ID you and send you awesome photos from the run – that’s why!

In addition we’ll have a tasty Epic beer waiting for you when you’ve run the trails with Jo…. It’s gonna be a fun run indeed.

Fire away – we’re all ears and happy to help. Just hit reply to this email or contact us via our Facebook page.

We hope to see you next Saturday!
